CEREMONY IMMERSION RETREAT

With Taita Juan Bautista Agreda Chindoy

Tepoztlán, Morelos, México

July 27 - August 3, 2025

The Invitation

This retreat is an invitation to immerse in a series of deep and rejuvenating ceremonies with the knowledge and support of Taita Juan, a renowned indigenous healer and tribal leader. The retreat is open to persons wishing to explore their personal journey of healing and spiritual growth in a safe, compassionate atmosphere and with the unique knowledge of an indigenous lineage keeper.

At a dedicated retreat center, participants will be warmly greeted in an inviting and hospitable sanctuary with comfortable lodgings, inspiring natural surroundings, and delicious ceremony-friendly meals. We’ve been guiding retreats with Taita Juan in this location for 12 years and it’s a privilege to return for a pilgrimage again this year.

Our practitioners will be available to provide individualized consultations and follow up for each participant.

This year, we’re adding a specialized seminar track for psychotherapists and advanced clients to expand their knowledge & practice through experiential learning. The seminar components will be offered by Danesh Oleshko, LMFT, with the supervision of Taita Juan, and will address the integration of soul-centered principles of healing in transpersonal therapy.

  • 3 ceremonies led by Taita Juan, recognized Kamentśa tribal leader and lineage keeper with over 45 years of experience.

  • 7 nights of lodging and meals in an ideal eco-retreat facility that is Mexican-owned and family-operated with authentic commitment to fair economic practices. Shared and private lodgings are available.

More about us

For the past 16 years, Kopali & Danesh at Kinship Therapies, have been apprenticing in the Yagé tradition from the Andean-Amazon region of Sibundoy, Colombia. Our immersive ceremony retreats offer participants an opportunity to work deeply on patterns that need healing.

This immersive retreat will offers a series of ceremonies (3 within a 7 day period) along with time for rest & integration in a supportive and compassionate setting.

Hundreds of individuals have attended our retreats for personal healing and spiritual growth purposes. We also offer an ongoing dedicated cohort for persons in recovery, and their families, as one of our areas of specialized care.

Culture & Care

Our ceremonies are always guided by indigenous practitioners who have been initiated in our traditional lineage.

Trained therapists are also a central part of our team during retreats, offering support as needed. During a retreat, participants count on personalized care by our interdisciplinary team which includes our ceremony leaders, professional counselors, and other healing practitioners.

One of our core values is to uphold the true nature of the ceremonial space as a compassionate and inclusive setting in which we challenge conscious and unconscious patterns of oppression. Please see our About page for full bios and background on our team including information about our lineage.
