I believe in providing effective therapy that addresses root causes of mental and emotional issues. My approach combines depth & transpersonal perspective with a pragmatic and compassionate guidance.

I discovered counseling as healing modality while providing holistic support to families and individuals in recovery from severe drug and alcohol addictions. I was a co-founder of a retreat center that collaborated with indigenous medicine people in South America. Being influenced by earth-based spiritual & healing traditions, I went to study counseling psychology at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), which has been pioneering integrative and holistic approach to psychotherapy since the 1960s. After graduation, I continued specializing in family and couples' therapy, transpersonal and integrative therapy, as well as addiction treatment. I received invaluable guidance and training by highly skilled psychoanalytic, mindfulness-centered mentors, as well as becoming a CADC I (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor).

Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy running in the woods with my two adorable dogs, ocean kayaking and Banya (Eastern -European steam house).

I assist clients who are experiencing a range of presenting concerns, including: depression, anxiety, insomnia, addiction recovery, codependent relationships, couples and family issues, individuals lacking emotional and sexual fulfillment, life transitions, loss, searching for meaning, spiritual concerns, trauma, and sexual abuse.

I’m an indigenous healing practitioner with an M.A. in Ayurveda specializing in Satvavajaya, Ayurvedic psychology. I’ve been an Ayurvedic practitioner since 2019, guiding clients to make changes in their diet and life routine for greater balance. I’m also a certified Classical Ashtanga Yoga instructor.

Since 2009, I’ve been apprenticing in the yagé sacred plant medicine tradition with Taita Juan Bautista Agreda Chindoy of Sibundoy, Putumayo. As an apprentice, I’ve collaborated to develop retreats and programs that focus on ceremonial healing for people in recovery. My years of study and practice with this sacred plant teacher fill me with deep gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility to our Mother Earth and to the indigenous lineages of ceremonial plant use.

I also have 15 years of leadership experience in community based social justice work with a focus on health and food justice and am a trained horticulturalist and 2005 alumni of UCSC- CASFS and Farmers of the Global Majority.

My ongoing inter-disciplinary training in these fields and healing traditions help shape and inform my practice to be holistic, integrative, grounded in our changing world’s reality, and in service of your spirit and wellbeing.

Some of the practices that help me stay grounded and joyful during our changing times include making pottery in my studio on the Oregon coast.

I came into this lifetime to help others move more comfortably in this world. I was birthed into a family of strong women who challenged their trauma, owning their right to live.  I was taught early to walk strong and tall and speak up for the underdog, the animals, and children.  In doing so I was often called rebellious and oppositional.

As a Non-binary masculine person, I walk in the middle of society’s claim of male and female roles and intentions.  This is where being an independent and rebellious child helped me learn to walk my own path.  With this experience I am enjoying the opportunities to help others find their identity of their gender and sexuality.

As a therapist, I offer a lifetime of experience and intuition to assist others in finding a path to live an authentic life.  Integral Counseling blends my love of nature, animals, philosophy, and spirituality.  I use this to guide my judgment.  I have a humanistic style of engaging that is friendly and warm, working to build your sense of resilience and trust.  Together we look at what has brought you to this point in your life, listening to your internal intelligence for resolution and to build confidence.  I support people to feel safe and comfortable experiencing their emotions in order to understand their prior trauma and grow beyond it.  In addition to gender is the complex dance of relational interactions.   I am open and comfortable with discussing sexual matters, kink, polyamory, asexuality and any other difficult to navigate topics.

My 38 years as a daily SGI Nichiren Buddhist practitioner and teacher gives me a deep appreciation for all aspects of life.  The foundation of Buddhism helps me make sense of why good and bad things happen.  By learning to overcome the hindrances and obstacles of our life, we grow stronger and more confident.  I find balance and grounding through chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo, gardening, creating w/ wood, watching movies, walking in the woods where I live in Felton, CA, enjoying life with my partner and playing with my dogs.
